- This medication is used to prevent pregnancy, to treat hormonal and menstrual problems,
and other uses as determined by doctor
- Read the patient information provided by the manufacturer before taking the medication, and
each time the prescription is filled.
- The manufacturer warns that this medicine should not be taken by women who are or are
suspected to be pregnant, have cancer of the breast or estrogen-dependent cancer, undiagnosed genital
bleeding, active or previous blood clotting disorders, vascular or coronary artery disease, stroke of
liver disease
- It is important to visit your doctor regularly ( at least once a year) and report any
unusual vaginal bleeding immediately.
- This medicine does not protect you against HIV infection (AIDS) or other sexually
transmitted diseases.
- Cigarette smoking increases the risk of serious cardiovascular side effects from oral
contraceptives.
- Be sure to tell your doctor about all other prescription, nonprescription (OTC) and herbal
or natural medicines you are taking.
If you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding and infant, discuss all medicine
use with your doctor. All medicine should be kept in its original containers away from children. If

How to Take This Medicine:
- Take this medicine as instructed by your doctor. If you forgot to take a dose follow the
instructions provided by the manufacturer and notify your doctor. Store this medicine at room
temperature in a tightly closed container.
Side Effects and Warnings:
- Side effects are possible with any medicine, but they are usually not severe enough to cause
the patient to interrupt or stop taking the medicine. Nausea, stomach cramps, spotting or light
bleeding, and breast tenderness may occur. Tell your doctor if these symptoms do not go away or become
severe; or if you experience shortness of breath; pains in the calves or chest; yellowing of the skin;
swelling of the hands or feet; pain, swelling, tenderness in the stomach; changes in vision; severe
headache; vaginal bleeding; or any other bothersome side effects.
